In this song, Toomin learns that he has been accepted as non-essential crew aboard the MCQ3. He questions his own merits and wonders how he managed to scrape by to be accepted. He seek out Lackofa, an essential crew member and mentor-of-sorts, and upon confrontation, Lackofa admits his role in Toomin's acceptance and explains his reasoning for recommending/sponsoring Toomin to be chosen as crew; Toomin devotes himself to learning all that he can about the MCQ3 and it's upcoming voyage, to acquaint himself with his new role
